Many Sky Top visitors from out-of-town stepped up in big ways to offer support and donate supplies after Hurricane Helene's devastation gripped areas of Western North Carolina. Regular visitors Aimee Montes and her husband joined the efforts.
While delivering supplies to Asheville, they stopped by Sky Top to pick up apples for their local Surfside Beach Fall Family Festival. While a talented baker, this competition was Aimee's first. And she left with 1st prize!
“We went and visited everyone and tried to help out where we could. Then, we brought our apples back, made our own caramel and our own crust, and just put the love into it. It was for a good cause. We wanted to bring a little bit of that down here too.” -Aimee Montes
The entire Sky Top family was blown away by our guests' support of our community and orchard during a difficult fall season. A special shout out to Aimee and her husband for their support and for bringing a piece of Western North Carolina to the beach! Congratulations on the win!
