Sky Top loves bees!

  • Bees have a very important role to help our apples grow! In the spring, bees visit apple blossoms to pollinate the trees.

  • If we didn't have bees, apples wouldn't be able to grow.

  • 1/3 of the food we eat comes from food pollinated by bees.

  • One teaspoon of honey = the lifetime work of 12 honeybees.

  • Every spring, a beekeeper brings 6-10 hives to visit Sky Top. We love these visitors!

  • In the United States,  90% of apple crops are pollinated by bees.

  • There are approximately 30,000 bees in a hive.
