Sky Top was filled with holiday spirit this weekend! It was an honor to welcome @aerialrecoverygroup to our orchard for a Christmas party supporting families from Edneyville and Batcave who were impacted by Hurricane Helene. 🎄🎅🏼

Aerial Recovery Group (a global disaster relief non-profit based out of Nashville, TN) has been on the ground helping rebuild WNC since Helene hit. When local schools expressed concern over families not having Christmas this year, Aerial Recovery stepped up to the plate.

Families enjoyed holiday festivities (including special appearances from Santa Claus & Bigfoot) and left with donated age-appropriate presents, Christmas trees, meat driven in from Kansas by @cowteam6 , and of course… apples! 🍎

It was a beautiful event and a testament to the generosity of so many organizations who stepped in and are continuing to make a difference in WNC!

2024 blessed us with one of our biggest crops in history. Thanks to you, we were voted as the #4 apple orchard by @usatoday @10best ! We welcomed field trips and enjoyed sharing our abundant crop with our guests.

Then Helene hit during the peak of our season, temporarily closing our doors and causing significant loss in our beloved Western NC Community.

Lots of cleanup and care was needed. We donated apples and space in our cooler. But nothing compared to how YOU showed up for us and our community.

Together, we collected over 12 apple bins full of donations for local organizations. We were blown away by your generosity and humbled by your support.

As growers in the area since ’67, we are no strangers to weather’s perils. We’ve seen early freezes and late hailstorms that wiped out the crop. This year, was unlike any other. But despite the challenges, farmers are resilient and know that brighter days are always ahead.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you. For supporting us and for supporting our community. We look forward to welcoming you back in summer 2025.

Place thawed pie on a cookie sheet
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until brown and bubbly in the center

If you forgot to thaw your pie overnight, cover it with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes at 350 then remove foil and bake 45 minutes as described above.

Exciting news 🎉 Sky Top has resumed our normal business hours. We are now open 7-days a week from 9-6. All attractions (hayride, bee train, apple cannon, and gem mining are open daily.) We are fully operational and roads to visit Sky Top are open with no detours.

Our last day of the 2024 season will be Dec 1.

If you are visiting out of town, please remember to be courteous on local roads to respect any work still be done. Thank you!

Sunday (9/29) 11:45AM Update: The sun is coming out and after evaluating the orchard, we have decided that we can safely open for guests to walk in the orchard and pick apples. 🔌 We are still without power at this time. For those who can safely visit, we hope to bring some solace and respite during a very difficult time ☀️🍎

As for other items: We have a small generator for cider, keeping it cold for now. We are offering discounts on fresh cider and pies while they last. 🥧

We plan to be open daily from 10-4 for the time being and will update as we are able. Thank you 🙏🏻
